First Nigerian Cashew Processor Becomes ACA Seal-Approved

Last week, the African Cashew Alliance celebrated the expansion of its Seal program by welcoming FoodPro, a large Nigerian processing facility, to its family of Seal-certified cashew processors.  FoodPro subscribed to this unique and cutting-edge service in 2013, collaborating with ACA’s team of food safety and quality experts to finally become certified on November 13, 2014.  As the first Nigerian processor to achieve this industry-approved quality standard, it serves as an example and a catalyst for other Nigeria-based companies to follow suit.

The ACA Seal was created in 2012 as a means to improve the safety, quality, and social/labor standards of cashew processing in the African cashew industry.  Cashew kernels which are processed in Seal-approved facilities are not only socially responsible, but are also more attractive to consumers who seek the best product available in the market.  FoodPro has joined the ranks of six other African processors – Tolaro Global, Mim Cashew, Jungle Nuts, Anatrans, Cajou Espoir, and Equatorial Nut Processors – who have raised the bar for cashew processing.

Great work, FoodPro!
