ACA Secretariat Holds Annual Staff Retreat for 2015

Before the holiday break, ACA held its annual staff retreat from Dec. 21-22, 2015. This retreat, themed “Building and Sustaining Stakeholder support for ACA’s programs and projects”, aimed to clarify and strengthen strategies for ACA in 2016. Building and sustaining stakeholders support for ACA is very critical to the achievement of the vision, mission and objectives of the organization as set out by its founding fathers.  The participation and contribution of the various stakeholders will go a long way in ensuring the availability of adequate resources for the implementation of programs and projects by the Management of ACA Secretariat that will positively impact on the operations of the stakeholders.

Objectives during the Retreat:

-To take stock of 2015 and look into improvement opportunities for 2016

-To evaluate the support of the various stakeholders of ACA in the past three years in terms of participation in events, contribution of membership fees, advisory board and executive committee support for resource mobilization, etc

-To identify the strategies for building and sustaining the support of the stakeholders for  ACA

-To restructure internal organization that will best enhance the building and sustenance of stakeholders support for the ACA

-To identify the human and material resources that will enable ACA build and sustain the support of stakeholders.

-To prepare short, medium term strategic action plans for building and sustaining Stakeholders support for the ACA.

The retreat addressed all of these objectives and was extremely constructive in fortifying ACA’s strategy for the upcoming year. ACA’s Managing Director, Babafemi Oyewole, gave a presentation that outline the major objectives for ACA , including resource mobilization, sustainability of stakeholder support, and staff engagement. These goals will be delivered through a set of outlined strategic actions including innovation, disruptive strategy, bold leadership, social adeptness, and determination.

ACA is confident that the productive conversations during the retreat will contribute to an improved and successful organization strategy for 2016. The issues discussed will be incorporated into the 2016 plan of action and the development of the next strategic plan from 2017-2020.
