African Cashew Initiative

The African Cashew Initiative…the world’s largest cashew project.
What is it about?

The ACi is an industry initiative of African Cashew Alliance member companies supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the German Development Cooperation Ministry. Together we aim to create:

US$15 million additional income for 150,000 small farmers (900,000 people), US$80million additional income for 500,000 farmers (3,000,000 people) over ten years
Jobs for more than 5,500 women in rural parts of Africa
More than 10,000MT of annual cashew kernel exports from Africa by 2012.
