Cashew market has been very quiet for the last two weeks
although limited quantities of W320 were sold around 2.20/22 FOB to
regular markets and few cents higher to off markets.

Strong rupee takes sheen off cashew exports |

There is more trouble brewing for the cashew kernel exporters in
India. They are already reeling under severe crisis due to competition
from Vietnam and a fall in export volumes. Now, the strengthening
rupee has put them in more trouble.

Vietnam Eyes Bigger Cashew Export in 2020 |

Vietnam
has targeted cashew export revenues of 820-850 million U.S. dollars in
2020, up from estimated 560 million dollars in 2007, local newspaper
Investment reported Monday. The country has planned to increase
its cashew output to 666, 000 tons in 2020, from expected 500,000 tons
in 2010, the paper quoted sources from the Vietnamese Ministry of
Agriculture and Rural Development.

Little Activity in Cashew Market |

There was very little activity in cashew market this week and
no change in prices. Stray trades reported W240 around 2.65, W320
around 2.25, W450 around 2.10, Splits around 1.80 FOB. Prices from
Vietnam and Brazil were almost the same
